A Fika House

Buregården is a natural place for fika — a warm and welcoming setting where people can slow down, share coffee and conversation, and enjoy time together - both with God and each other.

LIFE AT BUREGÅRDEN

A Place to Gather,

Connect, and

Celebrate

Buregården is not being restored as a closed monument. It is already becoming a living place of welcome. Since 2020, the house has hosted fika gatherings, holiday events, meals and fellowship.

Its foundation is rooted in Christian hospitality and a generous form of community life.

A house of welcome

The vision for Buregården is deeply relational. The house is being restored not simply to be admired, but to be inhabited, shared, and opened. It is meant to become a place where people encounter peace, beauty, conversation, and care.

Christian hospitality

At the heart of Buregården’s future is a life rooted in Christian values: prayer, welcome, fellowship, beauty, and service. The house is intended to be a place where people gather for prayer, shared meals, spiritual encouragement, and meaningful community.

A rhythm of community

Buregården has already begun hosting gatherings that express this identity: weekly prayer meetings, fika gatherings, holiday celebrations, and regular meals for pastors and local leaders. These gatherings are not an add-on to the house’s future. They are part of the reason the house is being restored.

Creativity and the garden

The future of Buregården also includes art, making, and beauty. The basement is intended to include pottery and arts activity, while the garden is being prepared to become a café-like environment of welcome and conversation. In this way, the house will bring together heritage, creativity, hospitality, and faith.

About the current owners

The current owners acquired Buregården in 2020 with a commitment not only to preserve a historic property, but to help restore it as a living house of welcome. Since then, they have invested deeply in the building and have already begun opening it for prayer, gatherings, hospitality, and community life.
